Polsek Cileungsi recently uncovered a case of illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tampering. Led by the Chief of Police, Kompol Edison, the team took direct action to investigate the matter.
Undercover Operation
An Instagram post by @polsek_cileungsi on Saturday, April 5, 2025, revealed that the case was cracked after Kapolsek Cileungsi disguised himself as a courier for four days, keeping a close watch.
The Bust

Incident: On Friday, April 4, Edison, still undercover, spotted a pickup truck carrying gas cylinders covered with a tarpaulin leaving a suspected LPG tampering warehouse in Kirab Garuda, Cileungsi.

The Chase: Acting swiftly, Edison and his team pursued the truck and intercepted it near the Cileungsi flyover.

Discovery: Upon inspection, the pickup truck was found to contain several 12-kilogram LPG cylinders ready for distribution. One of the two perpetrators in the vehicle managed to escape.
Confession and Seizure

Perpetrator’s Statement: The captured individual admitted plans to sell the illegally filled gas to a middleman in Tangerang, stating that the 12-kilogram cylinders were refilled using 3-kilogram subsidized LPG cylinders.

Evidence: A pickup truck and the tampered gas cylinders were confiscated and taken to the Cileungsi Police Headquarters.
Ongoing Investigations
The police are now interrogating the apprehended individual to unravel further details, expose any potential links to other illegal gas tampering networks, and expand the scope of the investigation.
